Grants
Frontrunners Lexington believes in actively taking responsibility for our community.
Grants
In 2023 we will strive to give over $10,000 to local LGBTQ+ programs and organizations.
Our Grants
Frontrunners Lexington raises resources through running and walking to better our community, and to promote diversity, equity, & inclusion. Shortly after we re-established in 2019, we encountered the Coronavirus pandemic. Our post-run socials became virtual, and to support our neighbors members bought gift cards from cafes we would have otherwise visited. As we grew, and established our 501c3 recognition, we experimented with new ways to raise and distribute funds: from t-shirt sales, to races. The through-line linking our early days to today is our desire to give back to our community.
We have granted funds to fight HIV/AIDS, to support LGBTQ+ clubs and organizations in schools, and to provide legal aid to queer youth. We look forward to expanding our service in years to come.
Below are our 2023 recipients — so far!
Grant Requests
In 2023 we began to solicit grant requests from the Central Kentucky region in service of LGBTQ+ and allied populations. Grant requests are reviewed quarterly.
We invite you to submit your grant requests by email at run@frontrunnerslex.com.
Successful applications will propose proven programming and activities demonstrating a commitment to LGBTQ causes in Central Kentucky. Applications are encouraged to prioritize outreach to intersectional populations. Reach out to the Frontrunners Lexington with questions.
Scholarships
Frontrunners Lexington offers two $2500 scholarships to LGBTQ+ high school seniors in the Bluegrass. Details on requirements and how to apply to this scholarship program may be found here.
